Richard E. Vaughn - September 4, 2003
The funeral of Richard E. Vaughn will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk, with the Rev. Craig Swenson officiating. Burial will follow in Minonk Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, and for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Mr. Vaughn, 72, of 902 Mary St., Minonk, died at 11:20 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 4, 2003) at his residence. He was born March 23, 1931, in Pekin, a son of Francis M. and Louise O.E. Harms Vaughn. Mr. Vaughn married Joanne M. McLean on May 2, 1953, in Pekin. She survives. Also surviving are three children, Vicki L. (William) Long, Washington; Michael R. (Theresa) Vaughn, Washington; and Lori J. (David) Kapraun, Minonk; nine grandchildren; and three former foreign exchange students, Suha Bishouty, Jordan; WeeLee Chia, Malaysia; and Teted Nazif, Indonesia. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters. Mr. Vaughn was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church; the Robert Morris Masonic Lodge; and American Legion Post 142. He served with the Marines during the Korean Conflict, and prior to his retirement in 1988 he was employed as a cost accountant by Caterpillar Tractor Co. |
